Gyeonggi-do to Host the Nation's Largest 'Global Startup Expo' in September

Gyeonggi Province will host the 'Global Startup Expo,' the largest startup festival in the country, this coming September.

On the 23rd, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency launched an advisory committee at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office and held the first meeting to prepare for the '2024 Global Startup Expo.'

The Gyeonggi Global Startup Expo will be held in collaboration with a global startup platform from September 25 to 27, simultaneously at the Gwanggyo Convention Center and the Pangyo Startup Campus area.

It was organized to attract investment and support overseas expansion for promising startups as part of the 8th-term Gyeonggi Province vision to create a 'Startup Heaven in Korea.'

Gyeonggi Province recently selected artificial intelligence, a current technology trend, as the main theme of the expo and will promote various programs such as insight seminars featuring renowned domestic and international figures, startup competitions, and one-on-one meetups with global venture capital (VC) firms.

Fifteen experts leading the domestic venture and startup ecosystem from various fields including business, associations, and academia participated in the first advisory committee meeting, including Kim Hyun-gon, Deputy Governor of Gyeonggi Province, and Kang Seong-cheon, Director of the Gyeonggi Economic Science Promotion Agency.
