Lee Byung-ho, President of Nong-eochon Gong, Conducts Safety Inspection at Bokyong Drainage Improvement Project Site

Lee Byung-ho, President of Korea Rural Community Corporation, visited the drainage improvement project site in the Muan Bokyong district on the 23rd to inspect the progress of the project and safety management status, urging thorough work process management and meticulous safety inspections.

The Bokyong district drainage improvement project is a project to establish and reorganize disaster prevention facilities to prevent flood damage by investing a total of 17.5 billion KRW in the areas of Bokryong-ri and Sanjeong-ri in Illo-eup, Muan-gun, and Dangho-ri in Mongtan-myeon, which have suffered from frequent flooding.

The project plans to install one drainage pump station capable of draining 10,800 tons of water per hour and one drainage gate, maintain drainage channels totaling 6.33 km, and reclaim 4.26 hectares, aiming for completion in 2025.

Upon completion, the area of about 200 hectares in Illo-eup and Mongtan-myeon, Muan-gun, is expected to be protected from flood damage and become suitable for cultivating other crops.

During the site inspection, checks were conducted on the management status of temporary structures and hazardous materials, the installation of safety facilities, and the safety management of on-site workers.

The Jeonnam Headquarters plans to focus on construction quality and accident prevention through systematic preemptive measures such as inspections tailored to each project site and monitoring of safety hazard factors.

President Lee Byung-ho stated, “Due to recent heavy rains and abnormal weather, there is a constant risk of flood damage, so the drainage improvement project to prevent flood damage is a project for the safety of not only farmers but all citizens,” adding, “Until the project is completed, please pay close and careful attention and caution to solid construction and safety management.”
