Handonghun Meets Former Emergency Committee Member for Dinner... "I Will Build My Expertise"

Former Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, Han Dong-hoon, held a dinner meeting with former committee members who fought the general election together. At this meeting, Han was reported to have made remarks to the effect of "I will build up my inner strength."

According to People Power Party officials on the 23rd, Han held a dinner with former committee members at an undisclosed location in the city last week and shared his reflections. Han resigned from his position as Emergency Response Committee Chairman on the 11th, taking responsibility for the party's defeat in the recent general election, and has been staying at home since then.

At the dinner, Han reportedly mentioned the time when he was demoted during his days as a prosecutor, saying, "I am familiar with such periods." This period is interpreted as a hiatus. Additionally, Han was reported to have said, "I will make full use of this time to build up my inner strength." However, he did not comment on whether he would participate in the upcoming party leadership election.

Attendees at the dinner comforted Han by saying, "Thanks to you, we performed relatively well in the metropolitan area," and "Although the number of seats is disappointing, the vote share is not at a disappointing level." Han, who is in poor health, plans to meet with party secretariat officials, aides, and security personnel once he recovers.

Han was offered a lunch meeting with President Yoon Seok-yeol through the Presidential Secretary on the 19th but declined due to health reasons. Furthermore, on the 20th, Han stated on his Facebook, "The only ones politicians should not betray are you, the people," and added, "I will take time to study and reflect."
