Selected for the 2024 Workplace Environment Improvement Support Project Competition
The Muan Regional Self-Sufficiency Center in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Director Han Mijeong) announced on the 23rd that it held the opening ceremony of the Obaek Noodles Project Group, operated by self-sufficiency participants, on the 22nd in the Muan-eup area.
The Muan Regional Self-Sufficiency Center was selected in March for the Korea Self-Sufficiency Welfare Development Institute's "2024 Workplace Environment Improvement Support Project" and opened the Obaek Noodles workplace with the 30 million KRW support fund received.

Obaek Noodles is a franchise noodle specialty store offering Korean-style noodle dishes that are highly familiar to local consumers. It sells 23 different menu items including familiar and season-independent noodle and broth set meal kits, anchovy noodles, bibim noodles, kalguksu, dumplings, rice balls, and kongguksu. Starting in May, it plans to provide better services to customers through delivery apps.
The Obaek Noodles Project Group’s operational staff consists of self-sufficiency work participants (basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class), creating more than six jobs in total. Through various support programs for improving work skills and performance bonuses, it aims to promote practical self-sufficiency and independence.
County Governor Kim San stated, “I hope the Obaek Noodles participants will operate well with the goal of starting a business and succeed as a self-sufficiency enterprise. Muan-gun will also actively support the independence of self-sufficiency participants.”
