Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Complex Energy Superstations and Expansion of Distributed Power Sources
On the 22nd, Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, signed a business agreement at the Uljin-gun Office with Highseltec (CEO Kim Gil-hoon) and Yeongnam Energy Service (CEO Kwak Won-byeong) to attract and expand the supply of the Uljin-gun converged hydrogen fuel cell project.
Uljin County signed an MOU with Highceltec and Yeongnam Energy Service to promote cooperation for revitalizing the hydrogen economy.
Through this business agreement, Uljin-gun will promote the electric vehicle charging complex energy superstation project.
The electric vehicle complex fuel cell station project involves installing fuel cells and electric vehicle chargers on idle land such as national land, shared land, and gas stations within urban areas, and supplying the electricity produced by the fuel cells not only to electric vehicle chargers but also to nearby distribution networks.
Fuel cells, which generate electricity through the electrochemical reaction of oxygen and hydrogen, are gaining attention as a low-carbon power source.
Uljin-gun plans to utilize its public land to expand the distribution of urban-type distributed power sources and electric vehicle chargers centered on fuel cells.
The county expects this project to increase the distribution rate of distributed power sources and reduce social costs related to transmission loss and transmission network construction.
Currently, the domestic power market is facing ongoing social issues due to power loss from long-distance transmission and site problems for transmission network construction. To proactively respond to the explosive increase expected in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, timely supply of electric vehicle charging infrastructure is crucial.
Through this cooperation, the energy superstation will be rapidly expanded and developed into a Gyeongbuk-type energy superstation business model, spreading as an excellent model of distributed power sources within Gyeongbuk Province.
County Governor Son Byung-bok stated, “Through this business cooperation, we will increase the distribution rate of distributed power sources and actively contribute to the government policy of revitalizing the hydrogen economy.”
