Yeongdeok-gun Agricultural Technology Center Holds Yeongdeok-style Smart Farm Comprehensive Evaluation Meeting

The Yeongdeok-gun Agricultural Technology Center in Gyeongbuk held a comprehensive evaluation meeting on the 22nd for the youth smart farm startup support and facility horticulture photosynthesis enhancement technology pilot projects conducted last year.

About 80 people attended the evaluation meeting, including Kim Gwang-yeol, the mayor of Yeongdeok-gun, Son Deok-su, chairman of the Yeongdeok-gun Council, council members, Hwang Jae-cheol, a Gyeongbuk provincial assembly member, and local agricultural organizations. The meeting included a comprehensive evaluation, discussion of issues by project, improvement plans, and product tasting.

The Yeongdeok-gun Agricultural Technology Center invested 570 million KRW in two fields for the Yeongdeok-type smart farm pilot project last year, achieving results such as ▲ spreading advanced farming methods and establishing a foundation through the first introduction of smart farms in the area ▲ securing a self-reliance foundation for young farmers and supporting rural settlement conditions ▲ increasing agricultural production by enhancing photosynthesis through carbon dioxide supply ▲ reducing heating and cooling costs through the development of Yeongdeok-type smart farm greenhouses.

Based on this comprehensive evaluation meeting, Yeongdeok-gun plans to identify issues and improvements in rural guidance projects, seek future project directions, and gradually expand and disseminate excellent projects based on the results of demonstration tasks.

Mayor Kim Gwang-yeol said, “This comprehensive evaluation was a good opportunity to assess what guidance projects are practically helpful to local farmers,” adding, “We will establish a foundation for communication between farmers and related departments so that scientific agriculture can be integrated not only in the cultivation stage but also in management and distribution.”
