Ro&Company announced on the 23rd that it received the Presidential Citation at the ‘2024 Science and Technology and Information and Communication Day’ ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Communications Commission.

This recognition was given for contributing to the popularization and advancement of legal services by enhancing public access to justice through the legal service platform ‘Lotoc’ and the AI-based legal information service ‘BigCase.’ Ro&Company also received the Prime Minister’s Award at the Korea Internet Awards, the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for IT Service Innovation, and the Minister of SMEs and Startups Citation for Venture Startup Promotion last year.
The ceremony held at the National Gwacheon Science Museum the day before was attended in person by President Yoon Suk-yeol, who congratulated the awardees. The awards were divided into categories for contributions to science and technology and information and communication, and Ro&Company became the first legal tech company to receive the Presidential Citation in the information and communication category (organization division).
Kim Bon-hwan, CEO of Ro&Company, said, “It is a great honor to have our efforts for the popularization and advancement of legal services recognized by the government,” adding, “As Korea’s leading legal tech company, we will create a significant turning point in the field of legal AI.”
Lotoc has grown into a legal service platform used by Korean citizens for more than 57.8 million minutes annually, with 1.3 million visitors each month. The cumulative number of legal consultations has reached 1.2 million, playing a major role in improving public access to justice.
Since establishing the Legal AI Research Institute in 2019, Ro&Company has continuously invested in research in the legal AI field. Launched in January 2022, BigCase provides the largest domestic database with 4.44 million precedents, 160,000 legal information items including statutes, decisions, and authoritative interpretations, 64 volumes of annotations from the Korean Society of Judicial Administration, and 138 types of papers in the field of legal administration.
