Mirae Asset Securities, First in Industry to List 4 US AI & Defense Industry Top 3 ETNs

Mirae Asset Securities announced on the 23rd that it will be the first in the industry to list growth-type Exchange Traded Notes (ETNs) themed on U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) and defense industries on the Korea Exchange.

The newly listed "Mirae Asset U.S. AI TOP3 ETN (Ticker: 520072)" follows a strategy of investing equally with a 1x multiplier in the top three U.S.-listed companies primarily engaged in AI-related businesses with the highest market capitalization. As of now, the constituent stocks are Amazon, Microsoft, and Nvidia.

The "Mirae Asset U.S. Defense Industry TOP3 ETN (Ticker: 520074)" employs a strategy of investing equally with a 1x multiplier in the top three U.S.-listed companies primarily engaged in the defense industry with the highest market capitalization. The current constituent stocks are RTX, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman.

Leveraged versions with a 2x multiplier on the same constituent stocks, "Mirae Asset Leverage U.S. AI TOP3 ETN (Ticker: 520073)" and "Mirae Asset Leverage U.S. Defense Industry TOP3 ETN (Ticker: 520075)," will also be listed simultaneously.

These ETNs are currency-exposed, allowing investors to enjoy the same effect as directly investing in U.S. stocks. Since dividends generated by the constituent stocks are reflected in the index value through the NTR (Net Total Return) index, investors automatically reinvest dividends. Additionally, there is the advantage of no dividend income tax that occurs when directly investing in U.S. stocks.

Moreover, the index was designed to select companies currently leading their respective industries when choosing constituent stocks. While there are many theme-based products using U.S. stocks among domestically listed ETNs and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), this ETN issued by Mirae Asset Securities is the first in the industry to include only three constituent stocks.

A representative from Mirae Asset Securities stated, "Domestically listed ETNs can be differentiated with a compressed portfolio consisting of only three stocks for overseas equities." He added, "These ETNs can also be used as alternative products in Individual Savings Accounts (ISA), where overseas stock investment is not allowed, providing tax-saving benefits."

ETN products can be traded like regular stocks after the listing date. For inquiries related to ETN trading and online transaction methods, customers can contact the Mirae Asset Securities Customer Center.
