The number one gift people want to receive on Parents' Day was found to be 'gift certificates.'

The Number One Gift Desired on Parents' Day Is Gift Certificates

On the 23rd, TMON announced that, based on a survey of 500 customers about their 'Parents' Day gift plans,' health supplements and gift certificates/e-coupons were selected as the most desired gifts to give and receive, respectively.

75% of respondents said they are preparing plans for Parents' Day, an increase of 7 percentage points compared to last year. The common second place for both gifts people want to give and receive was newly taken by 'fresh food.' Due to recent high inflation, fresh food has gained attention, surpassing travel/outings, which held the common second place last year.

In particular, fresh food showed the highest preference among people in their 30s. Among online direct-from-farm fruits people want to gift, 'Cheonhyehyang oranges and other citrus fruits' accounted for 24%, and 'mangoes' accounted for 22%, ranking first and second respectively. In fact, TMON's fresh food gift transaction volume showed that compared to the same period last year, fruit sales increased by 478%, and meat and eggs by 211%.

Regarding spending plans for Parents' Day gifts, '100,000 KRW or more but less than 200,000 KRW per person' accounted for the highest proportion at 44%. For Children's Day gift spending plans, 43% chose '50,000 KRW or more but less than 100,000 KRW,' meaning the Parents' Day budget plan was more than twice that of Children's Day. As for purchase channels, 61% selected 'online shopping channels.'

Accordingly, TMON plans to hold a 'Family Month' special exhibition until the 12th of next month, carefully selecting a total of about 700 popular gifts for Parents' Day and Children's Day to support customers' gift preparations. Jeon Gukyung, head of marketing at TMON, said, "As more customers prepare for Family Month, we aim to support shopping by providing abundant benefits and solid products."
