The CEO Rewards Employees with Bonuses
"Both the CEO and Employees Are Amazing" Netizens Praise Continues
A heartwarming story has emerged about a self-employed business owner who was moved by employees voluntarily opening the restaurant on a scheduled day off and achieving huge sales. On the 21st, a post titled "Employees opened the store on a day off without permission" was uploaded to the self-employed community 'Apeunikka Sajangida' (Because It's Painful, I'm the Boss).
Mr. A, a self-employed person who sells kimchi jjigae and frozen samgyeopsal, began by saying, "Sunday is our regular day off, but it seems there was an inquiry about reserving the entire place when I wasn't there." He continued, "The employees took the initiative to gather those who could come in on Sunday, gave up their day off, and opened the store. I couldn't go because it was my father's first death anniversary, but three employees came out and served customers," he explained.
Looking at the CCTV photos of the restaurant interior on that day, which Mr. A posted together, the place is packed with customers. He said, "I am truly grateful and touched. It rained the day before, so sales were low, but they said they had to make up for it and brought in a lot of sales today." He added, "I'm wondering how to repay this gratitude. Should I just give them bonuses?" seeking advice.
Self-employed people who read the story responded warmly, saying, "At first, I thought the employees opened the store on their own and took the profits, but this made me reflect. Both the employees and the boss seem like good people," "Bonuses should definitely be given," "It's so admirable it brings tears," "The boss must treat them well. Since they worked on a holiday, they should get their daily wage plus something extra," "They have amazing employees," and "They must have treated each other well regularly." Later, Mr. A commented, "We had company dinners two days in a row, and I gave them 150,000 won each as a bonus on top of their daily wages. I want to give more, but as a poor boss, there are limits," and shared, "They are really wonderful employees. I will treat them better from now on."
