Gyeonggi Province will carry out a vacation expense support project for non-regular workers this year, following last year.
On the 23rd, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will promote the '2024 Gyeonggi Province Worker Vacation Expense Support Project' with a budget of 770 million KRW for a total of 2,200 people, 200 more than last year, to guarantee the right to rest for non-regular workers who find it difficult to take vacations.
The vacation expense support is provided in a way that if a worker saves 150,000 KRW as their own contribution, Gyeonggi Province will additionally support 250,000 KRW. Workers can use a total of about 400,000 KRW worth of travel savings through a dedicated online mall.
The support target is workers aged 19 or older in Gyeonggi Province with an annual total income of 36 million KRW or less. Those who wish to participate can apply from May 2 to 13 via computer or mobile at the dedicated online mall (https://ggvacation.ezwel.com). If selected as a beneficiary, from June to November, they can purchase various travel products, admission tickets to tourist attractions, and cultural and artistic programs using the savings. However, if less than 60% of the savings are used, participation in the next year's vacation expense support project will not be allowed.
Kim Jeong-il, Director of the Labor Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, said, "The vacation expense support project for vulnerable workers is a pledge project of the 8th public election administration, prepared for those who find it difficult to take vacations in difficult situations," adding, "We will continue to expand vacation expense support so that the burden of vacation expenses is reduced and leisure can be enjoyed in various ways."
