SKT "A.Dot Tongyeok Call Applies Domestic Rates Even for International Calls"

108 Won per Minute Nationwide, No Time or Frequency Limits

SK Telecom announced on the 23rd that it will offer a rate benefit for A.Dot Interpretation Call international calls at the same level as domestic call rates through a partnership with SK Telink.

Any SKT customer can make international calls from the A.Dot phone using 00700 or +country code and receive benefits by using the interpretation call service. When using the interpretation call, customers can enjoy a rate benefit of 108 KRW per minute (excluding VAT), which is the same as domestic call rates.

This applies to all countries and the discounted rate is available from 10 a.m. on the day of the announcement until December 31, with no restrictions on time or number of uses.

For those subscribed to the existing 00700 international call plans (SKT 00700 Free add-on service, SK Telink subscription or flat-rate plans), the discount applies to usage exceeding the basic international call allowance.

A.Dot Interpretation Call, launched in December last year, is the first domestic service to provide real-time interpretation over the phone using AI without the need for a separate translation application or video call tools.

When SKT customers use the A.Dot phone, they can access real-time interpretation services by pressing the interpretation call icon at the bottom of the dial screen. Currently, it supports four languages: English, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.

Cho Hyun-deok, head of AI Communication at SKT AI Service Division, said, "If the A.Dot Interpretation Call service has lowered language barriers, we expect this partnership to also solve the issue of international call rate barriers. We will continue to strive to enable communication without any barriers with foreigners through the AI personal assistant A.Dot."
