Domestic convenience store parcel delivery fees will increase starting next month.
According to the distribution and logistics industry on the 22nd, CJ Logistics has decided to raise the general parcel delivery fees accepted at convenience stores from the 1st of next month.
Accordingly, among the four major convenience stores, GS25, CU, and Emart24, which have contracts with CJ Logistics, will simultaneously raise their general parcel delivery prices.
The additional cost customers will have to bear, including the indirect cost increase due to CJ Logistics' fare hike, is 100 KRW.
For GS25, the minimum fare (under 350g) will increase from 3,200 KRW to 3,300 KRW, and the maximum fare (15kg to 20kg) will rise from 9,100 KRW to 9,200 KRW.
CU's minimum fare will also increase from 3,200 KRW to 3,300 KRW, and the maximum fare will go up from 8,800 KRW to 9,100 KRW. Emart24 will raise prices to the same level as CU.
A CJ Logistics representative said, "We changed the delivery fees reflecting cost increases such as fuel expenses."
However, Lotte Global Logistics, affiliated with the Lotte Group and partnered with Seven Eleven, is reportedly not planning to raise parcel delivery fees for the time being. The half-price parcel delivery fees independently operated by each convenience store will also remain unchanged.
