On the morning of the 22nd, Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District Office, visited vulnerable areas around Gyeongin-ro 96-gil to conduct water cleaning in celebration of spring.
The cleaning event was attended by about 70 people, including Mayor Choi, members of the Saemaul organization, Gwangya Church, Ongdalsam Drop-in Center, and resident volunteer cleaners. Under the Yeongdeungpo Station overpass and near the free meal service area for the homeless, two 7-ton water trucks and two cleaning vehicles were deployed to clean the Gyeongin-ro 96-gil area, collecting accumulated waste and disinfecting and sanitizing restrooms.
Mayor Choi visited the site to encourage the workers and express his gratitude to the volunteer cleaners. He worked alongside the volunteers, sweating together to do his best in creating a pleasant living environment.
Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District Office, said, “I thank all the volunteers who joined us to make Yeongdeungpo a cleaner place,” and added, “I hope the residents will welcome a warm spring in the now cleaner streets.”
