Retweet of Posts by Joguk Innovation Party
Mention of Representative Lee's Remarks on Sewol Ferry Incident
Singer Kang San-e, who openly declared his support for Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, continued to sharply criticize the Yoon Seok-yeol administration even after the April 10 general election. He consistently showed support for Lee.
Recently, Kang San-e retweeted a post from the National Innovation Party on X (formerly Twitter). The post showed Party Leader Jo Guk saying, "The problem is that there is a special group in our country that neither gets investigated nor prosecuted," which was retweeted over 2,300 times and received more than 3,100 likes. It also recorded over 76,000 views. This statement by Leader Jo was directed at President Yoon, First Lady Kim Geon-hee, and former Emergency Committee Chairman Han Dong-hoon of the People Power Party before the general election.
Kang San-e also retweeted a post praising Lee Jae-myung. The post recalled Lee’s 2016 reaction to complaints about the yellow ribbon, where he angrily asked, "Would you say that even if your own child died?" It evaluated, "This is Lee Jae-myung. There is no other politician like him who can say such things openly in front of the person involved. Many politicians and critics condemned him for that, but isn’t that the greatest virtue a politician should have? Compassion for others, as a human being."
Right after President Yoon’s election in 2022, Kang San-e expressed frustration, saying, "The Trump Seok-yeol era has come. The country will be run well. Since Yoon Seok-yeol, whom Japanese right-wingers desire, became president, what on earth is going on? Haven’t we experienced Lee Myung-bak and Park Geun-hye and still don’t know?" He questioned, "Honestly, from the start, it wasn’t about the Democratic Party or anything else. I liked Roh Moo-hyun, Moon Jae-in, Jo Guk, and Lee Jae-myung. Conservative? Progressive? What is that?" He described Lee as "a good person himself." He added, "Sometimes in life, there are kind-hearted people. Like when you see an elderly woman picking up recyclables on the street, you naturally want to take care of her?that’s the kind of person I liked."
During the official campaign period of the last presidential election, Kang San-e personally visited Lee’s campaign sites in Jeju and Busan to appeal for support. His representative songs include "Like the Strong Salmon Swimming Upstream," "You Can Do It," and "I’m Telling You."
