The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon; Park Yong-geun, Vice President of SK Hynix; Jo In-hee, Director of Icheon Regional Self-Support Center; and Kwon In-wook, Chairman of Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea.

The city plans the "Reusable Container Rental and Washing Self-Support Business" to produce reusable containers made of special materials that can be used multiple times instead of disposable containers, renting them out for use at local festivals, funeral halls, offices, and more. The used containers will be sterilized and washed to contribute to environmental protection. In particular, the city aims to create a virtuous cycle where environmental protection leads to job creation by providing employment opportunities to vulnerable groups during the business operation process.

Through the agreement, SK Hynix will designate and donate the necessary funds to the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea to be used for the construction of the self-support business facility. The city will provide city-owned land located in Sindun-myeon for the construction of the facility and will offer administrative support for the swift and stable promotion of the project.

Vice President Park Yong-geun said, "We will lead the practice of ESG management by promoting sustainable development together with the local community and creating social value." Mayor Kim Kyung-hee stated, "This agreement is meaningful as a public-private cooperation project to create a clean environment for citizens," adding, "We will do our best to make it a nationwide model case of public-private cooperation."
