A Good Example of Simultaneous Activation of Tourism and Commercial Districts
Songpa-gu (District Mayor Seo Gang-seok) will hold an exhibition of large Pok?mon balloons featuring Pikachu and Lapras at Seokchon Lake East Lake from April 26 to May 19, a period of 24 days, in celebration of Family Month.
The giant Lapras, appearing to float on the lake, and the beloved worldwide character Pikachu balloons stand approximately 16 meters tall and are equipped with lighting for nighttime viewing.
Along with the exhibition, Songpa-gu has partnered with Lotte Group to create the "Seokchon Lake Restaurant Pok?mon Prize Event" to generate greater economic impact in the region. From April 27 to May 12, on three weekends (Saturdays and Sundays), participants on-site can spin a roulette set up at Seokchon Lake.
Participants who have a physical receipt showing a purchase of 20,000 KRW or more at popular restaurants around Seokchon Lake, such as Bangi-dong Food Alley, Songridan-gil, and Hosudang-gil, can join. Approximately 3,000 people will receive benefits including Pok?mon merchandise, movie tickets, Lotte Seoul Sky admission tickets, Lotte Aquarium admission tickets, Lotte World passes, and Signiel hotel accommodation vouchers.
An online prize event will also be held from April 26 to May 19. Similar to the offline event, participants must use restaurants around Seokchon Lake, take photos of their food and receipts, and upload their impressions along with designated hashtags on their personal SNS channels. There will be 100 winners, announced on May 22.
Additionally, a Pok?mon character parade will take place on May 11 and May 12 at the World Tower Arena Plaza.
Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, stated, "Through this event, we aim to showcase the charm of Songpa as a tourist city offering various attractions and entertainment, while seeking regional coexistence to create a good example of simultaneous revitalization of tourism and commercial districts."
