The review process for building construction and landscape in the Incheon area is expected to be significantly shortened as both reviews can now be conducted at once.
On the 22nd, Incheon City announced that starting next month, it will implement joint reviews by the Building and Landscape Committees. This means that the review by the Building Committee under the Building Act and the review by the Landscape Committee under the Landscape Act will be conducted together at the same location through a joint committee.
Until now, individual reviews were conducted separately according to each law, which prolonged the permit process and caused inconvenience, as well as time and economic losses for building owners, leading to criticism.
The city expects that with the implementation of the joint review by the Building and Landscape Committees, the review period will be reduced by approximately 4 to 6 months compared to before.
The joint review targets buildings that require reviews from both the Incheon City Building Committee and the Landscape Committee. Reviews will be held once a month as a rule, but if there are many agenda items, the number of sessions may be expanded to twice a month. Building owners can choose to apply for either the joint review or the individual reviews.
An official from Incheon City stated, "We have prepared measures to improve the review process with the citizens' convenience as the top priority," adding, "We will ensure substantial and in-depth examination of agenda items in both building and landscape fields to enable efficient joint reviews."
