Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends '1000 Butterfly Release Event'

On the 21st at around 2:30 PM, Oh Seung-rok, the mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the 'Release of 1,000 Butterflies' event held at Bulamsan Healing Town in Nowon-gu, Seoul.


Since the 16th, the Azalea Festival, adorned with 100,000 beautiful azalea bushes, has been taking place at Bulamsan Healing Town. Cultural programs utilizing various facilities such as the 'Butterfly Garden', 'Nowon Garden Support Center', and 'Forest Healing Center', along with three open cultural performances held on weekends (at 2 PM, 3 PM, and 4 PM), provide enjoyable attractions.


On the 21st, the 'Release of 1,000 Butterflies' event was held to wish the residents a beautiful spring day. Oh Seung-rok, mayor of Nowon-gu, released 1,000 butterflies of four species, including cabbage white butterflies, large white butterflies, and yellow butterflies, together with 50 residents.


The 'Release of 1,000 Butterflies' event, held for the first time this year, presented a beautiful spectacle harmonizing with the azaleas and offered special enjoyment to the residents.


The Azalea Festival is scheduled to continue at Bulamsan Healing Town until April 28.


Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "This year's Azalea Festival has prepared various events such as the 'Release of 1,000 Butterflies' that can be enjoyed along with the beauty of the azaleas," and added, "I hope everyone creates memories with their families while fully experiencing the scent of spring during the remaining festival period."
