Park Ji-won Recommends Ahn Cheol-soo as People Power Party Leader, Why?

Park to Appear on Coupang Play Comedy Show 'SNL Korea'
"Han Dong-hoon Is a Crazy Boy, Acknowledges Hong Joon-pyo's Political Skills"

Park Ji-won, former head of the National Intelligence Service who was elected as a member of the National Assembly in the Jeonnam Haenam-Wando-Jindo district for the Democratic Party of Korea in the April 10 general election, expressed his belief that Cho Kuk, leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, will stay in politics longer than Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea.

On the 20th, Park appeared on the Coupang Play comedy show 'SNL Korea' Reboot Season 5 and said this in an interview with 'Malgnungwang-i Ganda.' When asked by the host, "Between Leader Lee and Leader Cho, who do you think will be in politics longer?" he predicted, "If Leader Lee is elected president in two years, he can only be in politics for five years. Leader Cho, on the other hand, will look at other things after that, so he can stay longer." This was interpreted to mean that Lee will become president in two years and Cho will challenge for the presidency afterward. In this way, he offered 'political well-wishes' to both.

Park Ji-won Recommends Ahn Cheol-soo as People Power Party Leader, Why? Park, who praised himself as a 'smart boy,' harshly criticized former People Power Party emergency committee chairman Han Dong-hoon as a 'crazy boy.' He said, "During the last general election campaign, I toured the country saying 'When April passes, Han Dong-hoon will leave' and 'When May comes, President Yoon Seok-yeol and Kim Kun-hee will cry,' and it has come true," adding, "I want to say 'farewell' to former Chairman Han."

On the other hand, he expressed hope that Hong Joon-pyo, mayor of Daegu, would stay in politics for a long time. Park highly praised Hong, saying, "Mayor Hong is very smart," and acknowledged his political skills. "He does a good job criticizing former People Power Party emergency committee chairman Han Dong-hoon, which our Democratic Party should do. I hope someone like him stays in politics for a long time." When asked who between himself and Mayor Hong would stay in politics longer, he also chose Mayor Hong.

When asked if there was someone he would recommend as the next opposition party leader, he recommended Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, as the next party leader. He sarcastically said the reason for recommending Ahn was "because then he will fail." Park added, "(Ahn) will withdraw again," and said, "Ahn is currently giving President Yoon Seok-yeol a lot of harsh criticism. However, President Yoon will never tolerate that, so whoever comes as party leader, the People Power Party needs a change in the presidency."
