Register Credit and Debit Cards on T-money App
Promotion Runs Until the 31st of Next Month
The Climate Companion Card, an unlimited public transportation pass in Seoul, will be able to be recharged and used with credit or debit cards.
Seoul City announced on the 21st that it will introduce credit and debit card registration and recharge functions to the Climate Companion Card and plans to launch a credit card equipped with the Climate Companion Card function in the second half of the year.
From the 24th, mobile card users will be able to register and recharge credit and debit cards in addition to bank account registration on the Mobile T-money application (app). They will also receive recharge reminders before the expiration date and can extend the usage period after simple authentication (6-digit verification code, fingerprint authentication, etc.).
Promotions will also be held. From the 24th until the 31st of next month, users who recharge the mobile Climate Companion Card using KB Kookmin, Lotte, Samsung, Shinhan, or Hana cards (including credit and debit cards) can receive additional benefits of up to 10,000 KRW.
Physical cards will be able to be recharged with credit cards starting from the 27th at subway stations on lines 1 to 8 operated by Seoul Metro.
However, recharging is only possible at some disposable ticket vending machines installed in stations (one machine per station). Among transfer stations, Chungmuro Station can be recharged with credit cards only at Line 4, and Yeonsinnae Station only at Line 3.
The city is working to enable credit card recharging on Line 9, the Ui-Sinseol Line, and the Sillim Line by the first half of the year.
The credit card service equipped with the Climate Companion Card function aims to be launched by the end of September. The city plans to continuously develop services so that users can enjoy various benefits along with credit card and Climate Companion Card functions with a single card.
Since its launch on January 27 of this year, the Climate Companion Card has surpassed 1 million cumulative sales.
