Lotte World Tower Vertical Marathon Climbing 2,917 Stairs... 1st Place Finishes in 19 Minutes 27 Seconds

The Nation's Largest Vertical Marathon Climbing 123 Floors
Held on the 20th, Record 2,200 Participants

Lotte Property & Development announced on the 21st that it held the vertical marathon event "2024 Skyrun" at Jamsil Lotte World Tower.


Skyrun is the largest vertical marathon event in Korea, where participants climb 2,917 stairs from the 1st floor to the 123rd floor of Lotte World Tower. This year's event held on the 20th saw the highest number of participants ever, with over 2,200 people, bringing the total cumulative participants to more than 10,000.


This year’s competition featured a diverse range of participants, including international competitors from the United States, Japan, Malaysia, as well as the oldest participant aged 82 and the youngest aged 3.


Mr. An Bong-jun took first place in the men's division and overall with the fastest time of 19 minutes and 27 seconds, while Ms. Kim Bo-bae claimed first place in the women's division with a time of 22 minutes and 59 seconds.

A new "Kids Run" event for adults and children to participate together was also introduced. Families with children who have intellectual disabilities also took part, climbing up to the 60th floor.


Jang Jae-hoon, CEO of Lotte Property & Development, said at the opening ceremony, "I sincerely support the challenge and passion of everyone participating in the country's top vertical marathon event."


All proceeds from the entry fees will be donated to the Lotte Medical Foundation’s Bobath Children's Clinic Rehabilitation Center construction fund.
