On the 20th at 3 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the opening ceremony of the '2024 Azalea Festival' held at Bulamsan Healing Town in Nowon-gu, Seoul.
Started in 2022, this year marks the 3rd Bulamsan Azalea Festival, one of the five major festivals representing Nowon. Every spring, the district's representative attraction, Bulamsan Healing Town (Azalea Hill), is adorned with a spectacular display of 100,000 deep scarlet azalea bushes.
Despite the rain that day, cultural programs utilizing various facilities such as the 'Butterfly Garden,' 'Nowon Garden Support Center,' and 'Forest Healing Center' were held, and three cultural performances (at 2 PM, 3 PM, and 4 PM) provided enjoyable entertainment.
During the remaining festival schedule, daily cultural and experiential programs will continue, along with various performances held three times a day (2 PM, 3 PM, and 4 PM) on weekends (April 21, 27, and 28) welcoming visitors.
The opening ceremony was attended by about 200 people, including Mayor Oh Seung-rok, National Assembly members Woo Won-shik and Kim Seong-hwan, city and district council members, and residents, proceeding with greetings and congratulatory speeches.
Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “This year, we created a small stream so that residents visiting Azalea Hill can enjoy the azaleas of April more refreshingly,” and added, “We have prepared various programs, so I hope families and couples have a happy time together.”
