The public interest corporation Hope Sharing Market (Chairman Lee Won-seok), established by distributors of Garak Market, donated 1,000 boxes of apples weighing 2.5kg each (worth a total of 24.5 million KRW) to low-income families in Songpa-gu on the 16th.

As the shipment volume sharply decreased due to pests and abnormal weather, the prices of fruits such as apples rose, causing difficulties for vulnerable groups. To support food welfare for these groups, member companies of Hope Sharing Market?Seoul Cheonggwa, Jungang Cheonggwa, and Donghwa Cheonggwa?joined forces.

At the delivery ceremony held at Songpa-gu Office on April 8, six Garak Market officials, including Seo Gang-seok, Mayor of Songpa-gu, Moon Young-pyo, President of Seoul Agro-Fisheries & Food Corporation, and representatives from Seoul Cheonggwa, Jungang Cheonggwa, and Donghwa Cheonggwa, gathered to discuss food welfare for Songpa-gu residents.

Lee Won-seok, Chairman of Hope Sharing Market, said, “I heard that fruit consumption among low-income families has decreased due to rising fruit prices. To ensure that vulnerable groups are not excluded from food welfare, Hope Sharing Market and the Garak Market fruit corporations will continue to practice neighborly love together.”
