Jin Gyo-hoon, Gangseo District Mayor, Attends Opening Ceremony of Community Childcare Sharing Center and Toy Library

Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo District, attended the opening ceremony of the 2nd Joint Childcare Sharing Center and the 3rd Toy Library, which opened on the 2nd floor of the Comprehensive Childcare Center in Hwagog 6-dong Newlywed Hope Town on the morning of the 19th.

The opening ceremony was held with about 80 attendees including Mayor Jin, facility users, and local residents, and proceeded in the order of ▲ congratulatory performance by children from the district-run Eoullim Daycare Center ▲ report on progress and operation plans ▲ rice cake cake cutting ceremony ▲ facility tour.

The district established a joint childcare facility in Newlywed Hope Town so that young couples with children can raise their children without childcare burdens.

The Joint Childcare Sharing Center, where neighbors share childcare information and care for children together, was created with an area of 122㎡. It is equipped with a joint childcare space, nursing room, and program room.

Parents with children under 12 years old can use the facility free of charge. However, some programs are conducted for a fee. It operates from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is closed every Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays.

At the Toy Library, more than 360 types of toys can be borrowed free of charge. It has a variety of items ranging from 100-day celebration tableware to toys for children over 25 months old. Up to 2 items can be rented for one week per visit.

It operates from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and is closed every Sunday, Monday, and public holidays.

Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “We will continue to expand childcare facilities such as kids cafes, toy libraries, and joint childcare sharing centers to reduce childcare burdens,” and added, “We will reduce the childcare burden on parents and furthermore implement practical policies to solve the low birthrate problem.”

Meanwhile, the 1st Joint Childcare Sharing Center in Gangseo District was established in Hwagog 8-dong in 2019, and the 1st Toy Library is operating in Balsan-dong, with the 2nd Toy Library operating in Hwagog 1-dong.
