Student and Youth Division 'Wonwon Nine', University and General Division 'Push Push Upup' Win Top Awards
Jeonnam Province Representatives Compete in May National CPR Contest Hosted by Fire Agency
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) announced on the 19th that it held the "13th Jeollanam-do General Public Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Competition" at the Jangheung Fire Station auditorium.
The general public CPR competition is held annually to raise awareness of the importance of emergency treatment for cardiac arrest patients and to increase the rate of CPR implementation.
This year, 11 teams from the student and youth division and 11 teams from the university and general division participated, performing CPR and cardiac arrest response actions within 8 minutes.
Through evaluations by judges using non-verbal presentations and CPR record sheets, the 'Wonwon Nine' team from Gwangyang City won the grand prize in the student and youth division, and the 'Push Push Up Up' team from Jangheung County won the grand prize in the university and general division.
The two grand prize-winning teams will represent Jeonnam Province at the national CPR competition hosted by the Fire Agency in May.
Chief Hong Young-geun said, "I hope this was a time for various members of society to learn how to respond to cardiac arrest situations that can occur in daily life," and added, "We will promote safety culture events that more citizens can participate in."
