Middle School Girl Who Requested 'Contract Killing' Demanded 30 Million Won
When She Said She Had No Money, 700,000 Won Was Extorted
A man in his 20s who deceived a teenage girl into paying him money after she requested him to murder her parents and ex-boyfriend was sentenced to prison. On the 19th, the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 6 (Judge Shin Heungho) announced that A (20), who was indicted on charges of fraud and attempted extortion, was sentenced to one year in prison with a three-year probation period and ordered to perform 160 hours of community service.
A was indicted on charges of swindling about 700,000 won from B (16), who contacted him on January 2 of last year, asking him to kill her parents and ex-boyfriend. At the time, A had posted an advertisement online stating, "I will carry out contract killings or organ trafficking on your behalf," and B contacted him after seeing the post. A told B, "If you give me 30 million won, I will carry out the contract killing as you wish," and demanded, "Transfer the money you have first," receiving money twice.
Two days later, when B said, "I have no more money and want to cancel the contract killing request," A threatened her, saying, "You cannot cancel it," and "The Joseonjok (ethnic Koreans from China) guys are already looking for your parents." He continued, "If you don't send the money, I will proceed with organ trafficking," and threatened, "If you don't send an additional 300,000 won by any means, I will expose all your personal information."
The court stated the sentencing reasons, saying, "The defendant's crime is serious and no settlement was reached with the victim," but also considered that "he is remorseful and is a first-time offender with no prior criminal record."
