[Yang Nak-gyu's Defence photo] ROK-US Special Forces Airborne Infiltration Training

The Republic of Korea Army Special Warfare Command and the United States Special Operations Command Korea conducted a joint airborne infiltration exercise at Osan Air Base on the 18th. Approximately 260 personnel from the Special Warfare Command's Hwanggeumbat and Onnuri units and the United States Special Operations Command Korea participated in this exercise.

The United States Special Operations Command Korea is a unit that performs special operations missions supporting the United Nations Command, United States Forces Korea, and the Combined Forces Command. It contributes to enhancing the special operations capabilities of both countries through regular joint training and tactical discussions with the Republic of Korea Special Warfare Command.

They conducted realistic training to rapidly infiltrate target areas by airborne insertion during wartime from eight combined air assets, including C-17, C-130J, C-130H, and CN-235 aircraft. In particular, the large-scale airborne infiltration exercise was successfully completed without any casualties or equipment damage through ground training and safety assessments before the jump, airbase operation control before and after the jump, real-time weather monitoring, communication system establishment, and deployment of safety personnel.
