Yeongdeok-gun Holds Volunteer Happiness Village Project No. 18 in Geumho 2-ri

A Village Festival of Happiness Together with Volunteers and Residents

The Gyeongbuk Yeongdeok-gun Comprehensive Volunteer Center held the 2024 Volunteer Happy Village Action Day on the 18th at Geumho 2-ri in Ganggu-myeon, with about 200 participants including volunteer groups and village residents.

Yeongdeok-gun held the 18th Volunteer Happiness Village project in Geumho 2-ri.

The Happy Village Creation Project is a village regeneration initiative that improves the quality of life for residents through the talent donations of volunteers and the participation of village residents, thereby enhancing the bonds within the village community and improving living conditions. The Yeongdeok-gun Comprehensive Volunteer Center has been promoting 18 Happy Villages within the jurisdiction so far.

At the Happy Village signboard unveiling ceremony that day, along with a welcoming event for participating organizations and institutions, various volunteer activities such as mural painting and nameplate replacement were carried out through the talent donations of volunteers.

In particular, volunteers operated tarot card and food and beverage booths, and accompanied the event with diverse performances and side events, creating a festive atmosphere where village people could joyfully come together.

Kwon Yong-geol, director of the Volunteer Center, said, “I sincerely thank the volunteers who generously shared their talents for the public good and led positive changes in the village,” adding, “Among the many villages scattered across the region, we will take the lead with volunteers to find areas that have not received much attention, improve living conditions, and become a catalyst for a happy community for all.”
