S-Oil Donates 560 Million KRW to Firefighters, CEO Appointed Honorary Firefighter

Through the Firefighter Hero Program, Over 3,000 People Supported with 10 Billion Won in 19 Years

S-Oil announced on the 19th that it donated 560 million KRW to the Korea National Council on Social Welfare as a sponsorship fund for the Firefighter Hero Keeper program.

The sponsorship fund will be used for treatment costs for injured firefighters, scholarships for children of fallen firefighters, and awards for firefighter heroes.

Along with the sponsorship fund delivery ceremony, an honorary firefighter appointment ceremony for Anwar Al Hizaji, S-Oil's CEO, was also held. On this day, Nam Hwa-young, Commissioner of the National Fire Agency, personally presented the appointment certificate to CEO Al Hizaji.

S-Oil has achieved the honor of appointing CEO Al Hizaji as an honorary firefighter, following the recent receipt of the 29th KBS 119 Volunteer Award for its various support programs for firefighters.

CEO Al Hizaji said, "I will always remember the sacrifice and courage of firefighters and take pride in them," adding, "We will continue to support the Firefighter Hero Keeper program to encourage firefighters who protect citizens under difficult working conditions, and actively invest in the safety management of firefighting facilities and hazardous material facilities."

Since 2006, after signing the 'Firefighter Hero Keeper' agreement with the National Fire Agency, S-Oil has been implementing programs such as scholarships for children of fallen firefighters, consolation money for bereaved families, treatment costs for injured firefighters, firefighter rest camps, and the Firefighter Hero of the Year award program.

Over the past 19 years, S-Oil has supported approximately 3,000 firefighters and their families with a total amount reaching about 10 billion KRW.
