From the 27th, Native Flower Exhibition 'Spring Festival' Opens
Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province will hold a native flower exhibition titled 'Feast of Spring' at Woori Flower Botanical Garden in Paltan-myeon starting from the 27th.
The exhibition, which will be held for a month until the 26th of next month, will showcase over 100 native flower works, including endangered wild plants classified as Level II such as Winged Sky Lily (Nalgae Haneul Nari), Plum Water Chestnut (Maehwa Mareum), and Island Nightshade (Seomgae Yagwangnamu).
During the exhibition period on the 27th-28th and the 4th-6th of next month, various performances and experience programs suitable for families will be held, including traditional folk songs (Paltan Minyo), popera, and Hwaseong Cultural Foundation's 'Visiting Theater' performances.
The botanical garden is also hosting a special seasonal exhibition titled 'Journey of Spring' at the Four Seasons Hall until the 19th of next month, featuring invited artists 'TEAM BOTTA' who express the beauty of flowers by combining natural materials with contemporary art techniques.
Woori Flower Botanical Garden was established for the collection, propagation, preservation, and management of tree genetic resources and houses about 1,200 species of plants, including 22 endangered species.
Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, stated, "We will timely promote the improvement project of Woori Flower Botanical Garden to develop it as a representative tourist attraction in the southwestern region and will implement the core pledge project of the 8th local government term, 'Botanic Garden Hwaseong,' step by step to create a tourism synergy effect."
