Cast Iron, Fans, Bows, and Buddhist Paintings... Porsche Korea Supporting the Transmission of National Intangible Cultural Heritage

Porsche Korea and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation announced on the 18th that they held the ‘Future Heritage’ transmission support fund award ceremony at Hanok Jip in Seoul to support national intangible heritage.

This is one of the company’s social contribution campaigns aimed at promoting Korea’s unique important national heritage and establishing a systematic transmission environment. This is the third year of the program. Following last year’s 30 million KRW, this year’s support fund was increased to 65 million KRW.

The selected categories this time are six functional categories: Juchuljang, Seonjajang, Gungjang, Chiljang, Bulhwajang, and Tanggeonjang. The three performing arts categories are Seodosori, Daegum Jeongak, and Gasa. Each receives 5 million KRW in support. As for organizations, the National Intangible Cultural Heritage Gurye Jansu Nongak Preservation Society and the Jinju Geommu Preservation Society, a corporation for national intangible cultural heritage, were selected. Each organization receives 10 million KRW.

At the award ceremony, Holger Gehrmann, CEO of Porsche Korea, Choi Young-chang, Chairman of the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, and each grant recipient attended and shared the necessity of a stable transmission environment. CEO Gehrmann said, "We will continuously strive to revitalize transmission so that Korea’s precious national heritage is not interrupted, and the rich Korean traditional culture can bear continuous fruit, create future value, and become another dream."
