At 8:30 p.m. on the 17th, Simmons delivery staff parked their truck and unloaded a bed under a streetlight in an apartment complex in Seocho-gu, Seoul. Simmons recently introduced an 'Evening Delivery' service between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. This service is designed for dual-income couples or single-person households who are not home during the day.

Jo Young-rok (30), who received the bed delivery that day, said, "Thanks to the evening delivery, I was able to save my annual leave." As a dual-income earner, he said, "Before choosing the bed, my wife and I were worried about who should take annual leave to receive the delivery," adding, "After considering several brands, we chose a company that delivers in the evening."

Simmons has its own direct delivery system that installs products within 72 hours of purchase, including evening hours on weekdays. Scheduled delivery on the customer's preferred date is also available. Before entering Mr. Jo's home, the delivery managers sanitized their hands with hand sanitizer and wore disposable gloves and shoe covers. After about 30 minutes of installation work, they changed into spare uniforms before heading to the next delivery location.

Manager Yoon Hee-bok explained, "Installing heavy beds inevitably causes sweating," and added, "To prevent the next customer from being uncomfortable due to sweat odor, we carry multiple uniforms and have a manual to change clothes in between deliveries." A Simmons representative said, "Delivery is the final moment when customers evaluate the brand," and explained, "Differentiated delivery services lead to positive reviews, which in turn encourage other consumers to purchase products."

Along with Simmons, the furniture industry has recently been strengthening delivery services. As the e-commerce sector enables customers to receive furniture the day after ordering, just like food, delivery service has become a key factor in product purchase decisions.

Hyundai Livart operates a 'Next Day Delivery' service that installs home furniture the day after purchase and has increased its delivery and installation staff by 10%. Hanssem recently reorganized its next-day delivery service to strengthen it and operates scheduled delivery that allows customers to specify the delivery date. Coupang has also entered the furniture next-day delivery market. Through its 'Rocket Installation' service, if an order is placed before 2 p.m., furniture such as beds, sofas, and dining tables are delivered the next day like other Rocket products. AliExpress has also launched a 'Large Item Express' service that offers free delivery for large furniture items, further enhancing delivery services.
