"The Ruling Party's General Election Was Unprecedentedly Botched"
Hong Joon-pyo, the mayor of Daegu, criticized former People Power Party Emergency Committee Chairman Han Dong-hoon on the 18th, saying, "He became a deposed crown prince after defying his lord."
On the afternoon of the 18th, Mayor Hong stated on Facebook, "He was the shadow of President Yoon supported by some of the president's ardent supporters, acting as the crown prince of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, but he was not an independent variable," adding, "The crown prince did not even realize this and became a deposed crown prince after defying his own lord, and there is no independent force inside or outside the party."
He continued, "When Hwang Kyo-ahn (former leader of the United Future Party) ruined the general election and was ousted, even though he controlled the party for over a year, he had no roots and could not return," and questioned, "Is there any space in the party to accept him (former Chairman Han), who disastrously lost the ruling party's general election unprecedentedly?"
Finally, Mayor Hong said, "Stop writing novels and help us reorganize our ranks and rise again," emphasizing, "That is the way for Korea's conservative right to survive."
Since the April 10 general election defeat, Mayor Hong has been continuously raising the issue of former Chairman Han's responsibility and launching attacks. On the 15th, he also said on Facebook, "Would the overwhelmingly victorious opposition just leave it be?" and "Quietly prepare to deal with the special prosecutor that will come to you." On the 14th, he indirectly criticized former Chairman Han, saying, "A reckless political novice took selfies and played a solo game of presidential ambitions."
