HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is launching the ‘Total Solution Support Project for Partners’ to promote mutual growth with its partner companies.
On the 18th, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries held a ‘Total Solution Support Project Agreement Ceremony’ at its Ulsan headquarters, attended by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries President No Jin-yul, Myungjin TSR CEO Jo Si-young, and representatives from six external partner companies. Also present at the ceremony were Kim Jun-hwi, Director of the Busan Employment and Labor Office, Kim Jae-hoon, Director of the Ulsan Branch, Gong Heung-du, Head of the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and Jin Chan-ho, Head of the Ulsan Regional Headquarters.
As the shipbuilding industry enters a full recovery phase and shipbuilding volumes increase, the role of external partners responsible for supplying ship blocks and various equipment is becoming increasingly important.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries’ Total Solution Support Project is expected to enhance the competitiveness of the entire shipbuilding industry by providing comprehensive support across partner companies’ management and stabilizing the supply chain.
The total solution support will initially be implemented in three areas?▲safety management, ▲equipment operation, and ▲personnel management?targeting 40 external partner companies.
In the safety management area, the project will establish safety diagnosis standards including the introduction of quantitative safety evaluations, a safety grading system, and customized guidance and support by grade. It will also provide technical guidance and support such as building safety and health management systems, transferring on-site safety management techniques, and supplying various safety materials. Regarding equipment operation, technical guidance will be provided on condition diagnosis, maintenance, and operation of various work equipment, along with simple inspections and improvement guidance for buildings and structures. Environmental matters such as air quality, water quality, and chemical substances will also be supported to ensure lawful operation.
In the personnel management area, various job training programs will be supported, and consulting on laws such as the Subcontracting Act will be conducted. Special focus will be placed on supporting small and medium-sized companies in handling issues related to the recent increase in foreign workers, from workforce supply to safety and technical training. President No Jin-yul of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries stated, "We will share the systems and excellent on-site cases that HD Hyundai Heavy Industries possesses to the fullest extent and provide all possible support so that they can be applied at each partner company’s site. We will grow together with our partners and achieve results together."
Jo Si-young, CEO of external partner Myungjin TSR, said, "This project is expected to greatly help resolve the difficulties currently faced by shipbuilding industry partners."
Meanwhile, last month, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries signed a ‘Safety Technology Support Agreement’ with 20 external partner companies employing fewer than 50 regular employees, expanding safety support for small-scale partners and strengthening support not only for in-house partners but also for external partners.
