Mayor Yoo, who is affiliated with the People Power Party, said at the meeting, "Many long-standing projects have been resolved thanks to the interest and active support of local lawmakers," and requested, "Please communicate closely in the 22nd National Assembly to unite Incheon's strength."
Lee Jae-myung, who was re-elected in Gyeyang-eul, responded, "Regardless of affiliation or position, the elected members represent Incheon, so we must do our best for the development of Incheon," adding, "Democratic Party lawmakers, including myself, will actively support efforts at the National Assembly level."
During the meeting, key local issues were discussed, including hosting the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, undergrounding the Gyeongin Expressway (Namcheongra IC to Sinwol IC), undergrounding the Gyeongin Line (Incheon Station to Guro Station), ending the metropolitan landfill site and securing alternative landfill sites, revising the Free Economic Zone Act, and designating additional Free Economic Zones.
Next month, Incheon City plans to hold a party-government council with People Power Party lawmakers from Incheon to discuss cooperation measures for resolving local issues.
