Prevention of Violence Eradication through Civil-Government-Police Cooperation... Expectation for Establishing a Local Safety Network
On the 17th, Jinju City in Gyeongnam held a regular meeting at the City Hall Cultural Lecture Room with the participation of 17 members of the Child and Women Safety Regional Coalition Committee.
At the meeting, after awarding appointment letters to new and reappointed members due to term expiration, reports on the 2023 regional coalition achievements and discussions on the 2024 regional coalition activity plans were conducted, along with a campaign to prevent violence against children and women.
The regional coalition, composed of organizations related to the prevention of violence against children, adolescents, and women, victim protection and support, emergency rescue, education, criminal justice institutions, local community representatives, and academic experts, carries out preventive activities to eradicate violence by promoting child and women protection policies in each field. It also functions as a local safety network by establishing an organic system with related organizations to provide support services for victims of violence.
Deputy Mayor Cha Seok-ho said, “It was a meaningful time to review and share the role of the regional coalition for the safety and protection of children, women, and all citizens, close to National Safety Day on April 16,” and added, “I hope the designation of Jinju City as a women-friendly city will be further developed and that continuous cooperative activities of the regional coalition will be encouraged.”
