Goseong-gun to Host the 20th Danghangpo Battle Festival on the 26th

Goseong-gun, Gyeongnam Province will hold the ‘20th Danghangpo Battle Festival’ for three days from the 26th to the 28th at Danghangpo Tourist Site and Yangji Park in Hoihwa-myeon.

Goseong County will hold the "20th Danghangpo Battle Festival" on the 26th.

On the 26th, the opening day of the festival, a commemorative concert for the ‘20th Danghangpo Battle Festival’ will be held at Yangji Park in Hoihwa-myeon to celebrate the victory of the Danghangpo Battle and promote community harmony.

The event will begin with a powerful percussion performance by the Hoihwa-myeon Nongak troupe, followed by ▲a patriotic traditional martial arts performance by the Hosuk Muye Dan Samjok-o ▲a large drum performance by the Serotonin Art Troupe ▲a tribute reading of the late poet Kim Chun-rang’s ‘Chungmugong Praise Song’ prepared by the Talent Poetry Recitation Association ▲and a vocal ensemble by the choir Bellissimo, among other rich performances.

As the highlight of the commemorative concert, singers Park Hyun-bin, famous for “Gondre Mandre” and “Shabang Shabang,” and Kim Ji-hyun, known for various programs including the reigning king of singing, will perform congratulatory stages to share the joy of the Danghangpo victory with local residents.

Various events commemorating the Danghangpo Battle will also be held, including a drawing contest and writing competition, a departure ceremony and health walk along Admiral Yi Sun-sin’s victory pilgrimage route, and the Sungchungsa Shrine memorial rites.

During the Danghangpo Battle Festival period, the Danghangpo Tourist Site will offer diverse performances, experiences, and events to provide visitors with a variety of enjoyable activities.

Among them, the dinosaur live show will be presented for the first time, along with magic shows and balloon shows, and an experience zone where visitors can enjoy traditional games such as Tuho and Jegichagi will be set up.

Additionally, various surprise events for family visitors will be introduced to make the Danghangpo Battle Festival even more abundant.

County Governor Sang-geun Lee said, “Throughout April, let us remember the noble patriotism and love for the people of Admiral Yi Sun-sin, who led the Danghangpo Battle to victory,” adding, “We will develop the Danghangpo Battle Festival so that local residents and tourists can remember the joyful day when the Danghangpo Battle ended in victory and enjoy and share the significance of the Danghangpo Battle for future generations.”
