Hanwha Global Division Opens 'Explosives Safety Management' Smart Integrated Control Center

National Monitoring of Explosive Transport Vehicles

Hanwha Corporation's Global Division announced on the 18th that it has established a Smart Integrated Control Center overseeing explosive safety management and has begun monitoring explosive transport vehicles nationwide.

The Smart Integrated Control Center, established at Hanwha's Boeun Plant in Boeun-gun, Chungbuk Province, performs tasks to strengthen the safety management of explosive transport vehicles and explosive storage facilities nationwide. Based on advanced information technology (IT) in collaboration with logistics solution provider MK Alliance, information on explosive transport vehicles and the center is analyzed and shared in real time to detect hazardous situations.

Through large screens inside the center, various information such as the location of explosive transport vehicles, drivers, delivery status, speeding, prolonged stops, and accidents can be monitored in real time. Data is automatically aggregated to also check information such as cargo volume and on-time delivery rate (OTD).

At the center's opening ceremony held on the 17th, demonstrations were conducted on theft prevention functions for explosive transport vehicles, door opening alarm functions, the use of dedicated containers for detonators, and GPS functionality. The plan is to centrally block any possibility of explosive leakage due to theft or loss during transportation.

Hanwha connects CCTVs installed at 13 centers nationwide to the Integrated Control Center to strengthen security in controlled areas where explosives are stored and to monitor entry and exit trends in real time.
