"Uncle, Sign the Loan Documents"… Brazilian Woman Takes Deceased Uncle's Body in Wheelchair to Bank

Brazilian Woman Attempts Loan Using Uncle's Name, Bringing Corpse
"Claimed He Was Still Alive Upon Arrival at Bank"

A woman in Brazil was caught by the police after visiting a bank with her 'deceased uncle' and attempting to take out a loan in his name. However, the woman claimed that her uncle was still alive until they arrived at the bank.

On the 17th (local time), Brazilian media outlet G1 reported that a woman named Erica Jisosa (42) was recently caught by the police while trying to obtain a loan of 17,000 reais (approximately 4.5 million won) at a bank in Rio de Janeiro using her uncle's name. At the time, her uncle, Paulo Roberto, was reportedly sitting in a wheelchair and showed no signs of movement.

However, at the bank counter, Jisosa was heard speaking to Roberto as if he were alive, saying things like, "Uncle, if you don't sign, there's no way, are you listening?", "I can't sign on your behalf," and "Why aren't you saying anything?" She also tried to hold Roberto's head, which kept tilting backward, forward, and attempted to put a pen in his hand. Seeing this, a bank employee said, "It seems your uncle is not feeling well," and other employees agreed. One employee found Roberto's condition suspicious and recorded the situation on video.

After receiving a call from the bank that "the customer seems ill," paramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed Roberto's death. There was blood on the back of his head, and evidence suggested he had died several hours earlier. This means that Jisosa came to the bank with her uncle's corpse and pretended to have a conversation with it. In fact, CCTV footage near the bank entrance showed Jisosa pushing the wheelchair, with Roberto sitting in it completely motionless.

The police have arrested Jisosa on charges of fraud and attempted theft and are investigating. However, Jisosa's lawyer told local media, "My client claims that Roberto was alive when they arrived at the bank."
