Socar announced on the 18th that it will offer discounts on electric vehicle rental fees and free use of the pick-up service in celebration of Earth Day.
On April 22, marking the 54th Earth Day, Socar is participating in the Climate Change Week campaign organized by the Ministry of Environment to support eco-friendly mobility by promoting the use of electric vehicles and practicing carbon neutrality.
Socar will provide a 65% discount on electric vehicle rental fees until the end of next month. The discount applies to over 700 electric vehicles located at more than 440 Socar Zones nationwide, excluding Jeju Island. The 65% electric vehicle rental discount coupon can be downloaded from the coupon book page at the top of the main screen in the Socar application until the 28th. The coupon can be applied to reservations with vehicle returns by the 31st of next month and is valid for rentals of 24 hours or longer.
Free pick-up service benefits are also offered. Even if there is no electric vehicle at the Socar Zone near the area where the user lives or wishes to rent, the pick-up service allows users to receive and return vehicles at their desired locations, making electric vehicle use more convenient. When renting for 24 hours or more, the pick-up service fee is automatically waived, and the 65% rental discount can be applied simultaneously.
Meanwhile, Socar is also participating in the "Carbon Neutral Practice Points Green Life Practice" program operated by the Korea Environment Corporation. Socar members who join this program receive carbon neutral practice points worth 100 KRW per kilometer driven when using electric vehicles (redeemable as cash or credit card points). Last year, approximately 10,000 Socar members received incentives totaling 450 million KRW.
