Actor Kim Hwan-hee, currently performing in the musical 'Next to Normal,' had an illegal hidden camera discovered in her dressing room, causing a stir. It has been revealed that the perpetrator who installed the camera was Manager A from WM Entertainment. Manager A was reportedly immediately dismissed.
▲The perpetrator of the murder case involving a middle-aged couple in Daegu was revealed to be the daughter's ex-boyfriend.
WM Entertainment stated on the 17th, "Upon recognizing the fact, we immediately excluded the manager involved from accompanying the artist and took dismissal action." They added, "We have completed investigations of the performance venue, staff accommodations, and company office accessed by the employee. While no additional damage has been identified, we will fully cooperate with the police investigation and closely monitor the situation in case of any unforeseen circumstances."
Finally, they bowed their heads and said, "We deeply apologize to the actor and the agency who were hurt by this incident. We fully acknowledge the seriousness of this matter and will do our utmost to ensure the actor’s stability."
Earlier, on the 9th, Kim Hwan-hee discovered the illegal camera while waiting in the sixth-floor waiting room of the Gwanglim Art Center building in Seoul for the musical 'Next to Normal' performance and reported it to the Gangnam Police Station.
Kim Hwan-hee’s agency, Blue Stage, stated on the 16th, "The musical theater dressing room is not just a simple waiting space. It is a place where performers wait until the show starts, change into stage costumes, and shower after the performance," emphasizing the seriousness of the incident. They explained, "Installing an illegal camera in such a space is a clear criminal act and an unacceptable disgraceful incident. An investigation is currently underway."
Kim Hwan-hee debuted in 2015 with the musical 'Fantasia' and has been active in well-known productions such as 'A Starry Night,' 'The Disgusting Life of Matsuko,' 'Big Fish,' 'Kinky Boots,' and 'Rent.' She is scheduled to perform as Natalie, a daughter striving for perfection, in the musical 'Next to Normal' until May 19.
This is not the first case of illegal filming crimes in the entertainment industry. Previously, in 2019, a staff member who installed a camera disguised as a portable power bank in the accommodations of actress Shin Se-kyung and Apink member Yoon Bo-mi during the foreign filming of the cable TV variety show 'Borderless Pocha' was sentenced to probation.
