Samsung Group will implement a six-day workweek for executives across all its affiliates. Due to increasing management uncertainties caused by the possibility of wars such as Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Iran, executives have voluntarily agreed to participate in the six-day workweek.

According to the business community on the 17th, executives at all Samsung affiliates will start working six days a week as early as this weekend.
First, at Samsung Electronics, about half of the executives, mainly in support and development departments, have already been working six days a week. The remaining executives will join them going forward.
Executives at Samsung Electro-Mechanics, SDI, SDS, and Display, all electronics affiliates, will also begin the six-day workweek as early as this week. Executives at Samsung C&T, Samsung Heavy Industries, and Samsung E&A (formerly Samsung Engineering), the three companies specializing in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), have been implementing the six-day workweek since early this year.
Industry insiders expect executives at financial affiliates such as Samsung Life Insurance to join the six-day workweek soon.
Samsung plans to strictly prohibit subordinate employees from accompanying executives to work on these additional days.
