Nexon 'Building & Fighter' to End Service Six Months After Launch

Nexon 'Building & Fighter' to End Service Six Months After Launch

Nexon’s mobile action game ‘Building & Fighter,’ released in October last year, will end its service six months after launch.

The Building & Fighter development team announced on the official website on the 17th, "We have reached the conclusion that it is difficult to maintain sustainable service in the current state, and with a heavy heart, we deliver the news of service termination." They added, "Detailed information and schedule regarding the service termination will be provided through a separate notice."

Building & Fighter is a role-playing game (RPG) that uses a Global Positioning System (GPS) to capture buildings on a map. The game, overseen by Kim Yoon-jong, CEO of AceTom, who developed titles such as ‘Nai Walker,’ had raised expectations but failed to meet market performance expectations.

Nexon plans to accept refund requests from users who purchased paid items until July.

The industry views this service termination as an extension of the separation process from Wonder Holdings. Wonder Holdings is a company led by Heo Min, the former founder of Neople, and has led joint ventures with Nexon such as Devcat Studio and Nitrostudio. AceTom is a subsidiary of Wonder Holdings.

Since February, Nexon has secured 100% of Nitrostudio’s shares and additionally purchased a majority stake in Devcat Studio, proceeding with the separation from Wonder Holdings.
