Mandatory Disclosure of Event Budget Execution Details Over 20 Million Won and Responsible Departments

All budget execution details for events and festivals promoted by Boryeong City, Chungnam, will be disclosed in promotional materials.

The Boryeong City Council held the 257th extraordinary session on the 17th and announced that the ordinance on the disclosure of Boryeong City event budgets, which was primarily proposed by Councilor Chu Bora, was approved as originally proposed.

Accordingly, the city must disclose in promotional materials the budget execution details and the responsible departments for all events with budgets of 20 million won or more that it hosts, participates in, or subsidizes.

Councilor Chu said, "I proposed the ordinance to disclose the budgets of events promoted by the executive branch to fulfill citizens' right to know, contribute to budget savings, and enhance transparency in budget execution."

The ordinance includes provisions such as △ defining the scope of event budgets disclosed in promotional materials as events with budgets of 20 million won or more △ disclosing budget status by funding source and the names of budget-supporting departments △ requiring the departments executing event budgets to indicate the budget status by funding source and the names of budget-supporting departments when producing event promotional materials △ stipulating the use of fonts and colors that citizens can easily recognize.

The ordinance on the disclosure of Boryeong City event budgets, primarily proposed by Councilor Chu, is scheduled to be finally approved at the 2nd plenary session on the 19th.
