Over 50 Local Businesspeople Attend... Resolution Rally Held

Businesspeople in the Mokpo area strongly condemned Jeonnam Province's medical school establishment bid and strongly advocated for attracting a medical school to Mokpo National University.

The Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (President Jeong Hyun-taek) announced on the 17th that it held a resolution rally to attract a medical school to Mokpo National University, attended by more than 50 local businesspeople at the Sinan Beach Hotel.

The event proceeded with an explanation of the purpose of the resolution rally by President Jeong Hyun-taek, reading of the resolution, and chanting of slogans.

The attendees unanimously stated, "After 34 years of efforts to attract a medical school, it is urgent to establish a medical school at Mokpo National University to improve the quality of medical services in the underdeveloped western region of Jeonnam and to protect the right to life and health of local residents."

The Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry has repeatedly submitted government proposals to attract a medical school since first recommending the establishment of a medical school at Mokpo National University in Jeonnam in 1990. On the 5th, it also issued a strong statement opposing Jeonnam Province's medical school establishment bid and demanding the attraction of a medical school to Mokpo National University.
