"Determined to Win and Promote" ... Changwon Special City Holds Pledge Ceremony for Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Sports Festival Athletes

Held Across Milyang City, 1,040 Participants in 34 Events

Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, held the '63rd Gyeongsangnam-do Residents Sports Festival' Changwon City Athletes' Pledge Ceremony on the 17th at Hillsky Convention in Bongam-dong, Masanhwoewon-gu.

The pledge ceremony, hosted by the Changwon City Sports Council, was attended by about 150 people including Jang Geum-yong, 1st Vice Mayor of Changwon Special City, Park Seong-ho, Chairman of the Changwon City Sports Council, Hwang Heun-gwi, Superintendent of Changwon Support Office of Education, Kim Hwa-young, Mayor of Masanhwoewon-gu, executives and staff of the Changwon City Sports Council, and the Changwon City athletes, who pledged to represent the city with excellent performance and victory ahead of the provincial sports festival.

Changwon Special City Athlete Team Resolution Ceremony Held.

The 63rd Gyeongsangnam-do Residents Sports Festival will be held in Miryang City, where about 20,000 athletes and officials from 18 cities and counties will compete fiercely in 36 events over four days from the 19th to the 22nd.

The city’s athletes, selected from within the district including high school, university, and city hall workplace sports teams, will participate with the largest team in the province consisting of 701 athletes and 339 officials and coaches, totaling 1,040 members, competing in 34 events. This year, they aim to achieve top rankings in all events with their strong lineup.

In his encouragement speech, Vice Mayor Jang said, “As representatives of our city, you have elevated the status of Changwon Special City every year with excellent results,” and encouraged the athletes by saying, “I hope you will fully demonstrate the skills you have developed through your hard work and give hope to our citizens.”

Meanwhile, the Changwon Special City workplace sports team will also participate with 54 members in seven events (track and field, tennis, men’s wrestling, ssireum, kendo, shooting, and bowling), competing fiercely against athletes from other cities and counties.
