HiteJinro Holds Sharing Event in Commemoration of 'Day of Persons with Disabilities'

Continuous Implementation of 'Disabled Persons Day' Support Programs Since 2018

HiteJinro announced on the 17th that it will continue its support activities for people with disabilities, which it has been conducting for seven years since 2018 as part of its support projects for vulnerable groups. HiteJinro is preparing a sharing event in celebration of 'Disability Day (April 20)'.

On the morning of the day, a delivery ceremony was held at the Korea Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired located in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, attended by HiteJinro Executive Director Jeong Se-young and Baek Nam-sik, Chairman of the Korea Welfare Center for the Visually Impaired Council.

This year, HiteJinro supports 16 welfare centers for the visually impaired in 11 regions nationwide, including Seoul, Gwangju, and Daegu. It also sponsors 'family support programs' individually conducted by each welfare center for the visually impaired to assist families who must live closely with visually impaired members 24 hours a day. Additionally, it provides 'antenna-type 7-section white canes,' assistive devices for visually impaired people when walking.

Since 1996, HiteJinro was the first in the industry to apply braille markings on beer can openings to guarantee the right to know for the visually impaired. Currently, canned products such as Chamisul PETRYU, Terra, Kelly, and Filite have braille markings that allow identification of 'beer' and 'soju.'
