A group that stole pure gold bracelets worth 16 million won in Cheonan, Chungnam, was caught.
The Cheonan Dongnam Police Station announced on the 17th that they have arrested and are investigating two teenagers on charges of special theft.
They deceived the jewelry store by pretending to purchase the bracelets, wore them, and then fled.
Police who responded to the report tracked the suspects through CCTV and identified their appearance and clothing, searched the expected escape routes, and apprehended them within 15 minutes.
According to the police investigation, the suspects were senior and junior acquaintances in the neighborhood who conspired by taking turns keeping watch and dividing roles to steal the bracelets. It was confirmed that they are not juvenile offenders under the law.
The police recovered the stolen items and returned them to the victim, and are investigating whether the suspects were involved in additional crimes.
