Achieving a "Business-Friendly and Worker-Friendly City Gangdong" Vision: Public Announcement of 12,737 Job Targets and Measures for This Year Toward Creating 50,000 Jobs in 4 Years of the 8th Elected Term... Establishing a Large-Scale Job Creation Base Linked to Godeok Biz Valley

Gangdong-gu to Create 12,000 Jobs This Year, Leap to 'Self-Sufficient City in the Eastern Metropolitan Area' Lee Su-hee, Mayor of Gangdong District

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Soo-hee) announced on the 17th that it has established the "2024 Annual Detailed Plan for Job Policies," which includes job goals and measures, aiming to become a self-sufficient city in the eastern metropolitan area.

This annual detailed plan includes core job tasks to be promoted during the 8th elected term, labor policies considering the characteristics of local industries, as well as a comprehensive plan (publicly announced in December 2022). It also contains detailed tasks and specific job measures to be implemented this year in connection with the comprehensive plan.

The district is participating in the "Regional Job Disclosure System" led by the Ministry of Employment and Labor to enhance local responsibility and autonomy in job creation. Last month, the relevant information was disclosed on the district office website and the "Regional Employment Information Network."

Gangdong-gu’s "8th Elected Term Comprehensive Job Policy Plan" envisions "Realizing Gangdong as a city good for business and work," consisting of three core strategies and nine action tasks to create 50,000 quality jobs over four years (2023?2026). Among these, the plan includes detailed job policies to achieve this year’s job creation target of 12,737 jobs.

A notable strategy is in the field of "Establishing large-scale job creation infrastructure," which includes creating a foundation for large-scale job creation through the development of Godeok Biz Valley, fostering key industries of the 4th Industrial Revolution through the establishment of Gangdong General Industrial Complex, and creating jobs for residents through priority employment agreements with companies located in Godeok Biz Valley.

In particular, the newly introduced "Godeok Biz Valley Tenant Company Recruitment Linkage Project in connection with the Youth Employment Academy" is expected to contribute to locally driven job creation by linking young talents who have completed IT service courses at the Youth Employment Academy with companies located in Godeok Biz Valley. In the future, the project plans to expand its scope by directly visiting and conducting demand surveys not only with companies in Godeok Biz Valley but also with IT companies within the district.

Additionally, the district plans to hold "Job Matching Day," a meeting place for employers and job seekers, in the first and second halves of this year, and operate on-site recruitment booths to facilitate practical employment connections.

Lee Soo-hee, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, "This year, as companies begin to settle in Godeok Biz Valley in earnest, we will do our best to provide quality jobs that residents can feel by closely cooperating with these companies."
